The turnout for wave to earth at 713 Music Hall was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at that venue. The massive crowd completely filled the space, yet the atmosphere remained incredibly warm, serene, and intimate. It was beautiful to see so many people connected by music that feels so personal and dreamy.
Vocally, the performance was astounding. Daniel Kim’s voice carried so much warmth and emotion, while the band’s dreamy guitar melodies, groovy basslines, and tight instrumentation brought an entirely new life to their songs. Tracks like “seasons” and “bad” felt even more soulful live, especially with the crowd singing along.
I also deeply appreciated the stage setup, which felt like being welcomed into a little piece of wave to earth’s own world. Everything about the atmosphere felt intentional, intimate, and true to their artistic identity, complementing their dreamy sound so naturally. Rather than feeling like I was simply watching them, I felt immersed in their own little universe. It added another layer of warmth to the performance and made the entire experience feel that much more personal, almost as if they were inviting the audience into their own home for a night.
I went into the show appreciating wave to earth, but I left a converted fan. Their live performance revealed a depth and beauty that studio recordings alone couldn’t capture. It was such a heartfelt, immersive experience, filled with so much soul and love, and a reminder of just how magical live music can be.
