Long and dusty, day two of Austin City limit’s Weekend Two comes to an end.
Sabrina Carpenter energized the crowd
Saturday night at Austin City Limits and Sabrina Carpenter brought the pizzazz to the American Express stage to headline day two. She started the show with an electric performance of “Busy Woman,” “Taste” and “Good Graces.”
In between songs, Carpenter had interludes where she was a news reporter, live from Austin, a dance contest and a spray away “Manchild” ad before the song. She was equal parts funny and charming and made her set one to remember.
As is tradition at Carpenter’s show, a person is arrested right before “Juno” – for being too beautiful – and on Saturday, Carpenter arrested English singer-songwriter, Olivia Dean. She also brought out The Chicks as a special guest and together they sang “Wide Open Spaces” and “Please Please Please.”
Carpenter ended the show on a high note with “Espresso” and fireworks.
The Strokes
On the other side of the park, The Strokes, brought out rock n roll energy to the T-Mobile and performed “You Only Live Once,” “Hard to Explain” and “Under Cover of Darkness” among some of their other songs.
Girls bring the energy to the Amex stage
Sydney Rose, Olivia Dean, Marina and Doechii brought girly-pop energy to the American Express stage.
Dean brought infectious energy and dance moves to the stage in the afternoon and performed “Man I Need,” “Lady Lady” and “Dive” during her set.
Performing before the headliner is no easy feat and Doechii made it look like a piece of cake. Mixing up rap and singing, she performed her hits, “Anxiety,” “Swamp Bitches” and “DENIAL IS A RIVER.”
Djo, Pierce The Veil, Zeds Dead, Latin Mafia and Spacey Jane also performed across various stages on Saturday.
