What to expect from Austin City Limits Weekend Two

In Austin, October brings cooler nights and fun filled weekends. Austin City Limits music festival is as much fun as it is an Austin staple. 

Since 2002, Zilker Park in Austin, Texas has hosted over 130 artists and 225,000 festival goers at ACL over two consecutive weekends in October. The festival grounds fill yearly with many musical guests, food and other entertainment options. This year, Space City Frequency will be covering Weekend Two of the festival.

Here is a snapshot of what to expect from this weekend:

Musical Performances 

Over the weekend, artists across many genres and languages will take various states through Zilker Park.

Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, Luke Combs, The Killers and The Strokes are the headliners for this year. Cage the Elephant, T-Pain, Empire of the Sun, John Summit and Up and coming artists such as Role Model, Olivia Dean and Doechii will also perform this year. 

The new collaborative band, The Favors, with Finnes and Ashe will also perform this weekend. Artists such as Rilo Kiley, Pierce The Veil, Zeds Dead and Gregory Alan Isakov are some artists only performing the second weekend of the festival. 

ACL Extras

Everything is bigger in Texas and this is especially true for the offerings at ACL. This music festival offers fest-goers, “ACL Eats” and “ACL Sweets,” a chance for everyone to enjoy a variety of food iteams from local and chain vendors. 

Local Austin BBQ, Asian and Mexican restaurants are among many vendors featured at “ACL Eats.” For festivalgoers with a sweet tooth, “ACL Sweets” features ice creams, cookies, pies and more from various vendors. 

The festival caters to dietary restrictions and offers gluten free options, as well as vegan and vegetarian meals. 

To make the festival a more accessible experience, “Austin Kiddie Limits” allows parents to leave their kids in the play area filled with kid friendly activities. 

Additionally, “Bonus Tracks” at ACL will feature artists and Austin icons such as Matthew McConaughey, Brené Brown, Mixed-tape: A drag show and more this weekend.

There are photobooths, VIP lounges and multiple picture-perfect areas throughout the festival grounds, as well as hydration stations. 

Festival grounds will remain cashless thanks to American Express. Wristbands can be used for on-site purchases, as well as credit and debit cards. 

Hulu will be streaming the entire weekend for a third year in a row and subscribers can stream the live performances at no extra cost.
