$uicideboy$, New Orleans darkest rap duo, are bringing their Grey Day Tour to Houston on Tuesday, August 13th, in support of their latest Billboard charting release, New World Depression. Cousins Scrim and Ruby da Cherry will be taking over the Toyota Center for a night of annually chaotic orchestration.
Celebrating 10 years of being rap’s most hated group, the Boys will be running through a near thirty song setlist including older tunes that haven’t been heard live in years, a small nod to fans who have been part of the duos uprising. While $uicideboy$ have had more recent worldwide recognition with the help of a viral tik tok meme in 2020, the group hasn’t always been the list charting, stadium touring, number one independent rap duo they are today. Hard work, consistency, and a loyal fan base has slowly turned the two New Orleans misfits into one of music’s most streamed and profitable acts. While you won’t hear their songs on the radio or have a backing Nike/Mcdonalds/Dunkin Donuts collaboration to promote their music, the two boast a near 12 million monthly listeners with some songs more than halfway to the billion streams mark.
You’ll want to get to Toyota Center early the day of the show, the Boys are bringing along a handful of talented friends to start the night off and warm up the crowd before their performance. They will be joined by Floridian underground rappers Denzel Curry, and Pouya, whom they often collaborate with; Californian punk-rapper, Haarper; G59 artist Shakewell, and genre bending musician, Ekkstacy.
