A groovy and memorable night was underway in Houston as fans gathered to welcome R&B artist Thundercat.
The concert began, and the lights dimmed with a spotlight on Thundercat in a very personal performance of “Lost in Space/ Great Scott/ 22-26. The concert continued, and through the artist’s everlasting solos, the crowd grew more genuinely in tune with each other and the musical performance they were witnessing. Right before the performance of “I Love Louis Cole”, Thundercat shared a very personal story that gave fans an insight into the creation of the song. “Meeting Louis changed my life. This guy plays every instrument and destroys it. This song is actually about many nights with this guy. I’m happy he’s still in my life.”

Throughout the night, the crowd engaged with Thundercat as he shared personal and inspirational messages during his performance through his lyrics and in between songs. It was a wholesome and genuine display of artistry through many solos and interactions with all the musicians as a part of the show. This along with remarkable shows of lights and visuals allowed the audience to shift focus to different musicians showing out on stage as the lights were directed to each of them on their instrumental solos.

Hit song “Dragonball durag” had fans yelling in awe and singing along through the entire performance. It was right after this tune that Thundercat brought fans back to reality with a moving message about former friend and artist Mac Miller, and shared his personal difficulties with covid pandemic. “Has anyone else been traumatized for the last couple of years? It all kinda started for me when Mac passed. Make some noise for Mac Miller”, he stated. “This has all been very transitional for me.” A wave of emotion filled the crowd and drifted into the rest of the night. “We’ve still got each other though,” the R&B artist ensured fans.
