The Struts in Houston: 10 Years of “Everybody Wants”

The heart of downtown Houston shook with energy on September 25th as The Struts rolled into the House of Blues. Known for their bold style and lively stage presence, the band turned the venue into a night-long party. Fans came ready to sing and dance. They wanted to celebrate the music that has defined the group for the past decade.

Opening the night was Dirty Honey, whose strong mix of guitar riffs, clean vocals, and tight performance got the crowd on their feet. Their chemistry was easy to see, and by the end of their set, the audience was clapping and cheering along, perfectly warmed up for what was to come.

The Struts then took the stage and wasted no time grabbing the crowd’s attention. Frontman Luke Spiller, joined by guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies, announced that they would be performing their debut album Everybody Wants from start to finish to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. From “Roll Up” to “Kiss This” to fan favorite “Could Have Been Me,” the band delivered every song with energy and excitement. Spiller kept the crowd engaged the entire time, joking, dancing, and even asking, “Are you ready to boogie woogie?” as the room cheered back.

Fans responded just as loudly. People clapped in rhythm, sang every word, and joined in whenever Spiller held out the microphone. During Could Have Been Me, the audience carried the chorus on their own, their voices filling the venue and proving how much the song still means after all these years. Other highlights included “Put Your Money on Me” and “Primadonna Like Me,” which had the crowd moving.

With Everybody Wants  now celebrating a decade, The Struts proved in Houston why their music continues to resonate. The show was full of energy, humor, and nonstop movement. It also showed the bond between the band and their fans, which has only grown stronger with time.

If you get the chance, catch The Struts on this anniversary tour. The performance is not just a trip back to their debut album—it’s a reminder of the joy and power of live rock and roll.
