The Mixtape Tour Brought Houston a True Throwback Thursday

New Kids On The Block brought their Mixtape Tour to Houston’s Toyota Center on Thursday, May 19, including En Vogue, Rick Astly, and Salt N Pepa. The Tour had a unique set-up, instead of each group coming out to perform their set, the show was set up to be an actual mix-tape. NKOTB would perform on the main stage, and En Vogue would appear on the B-Stage, then Rick Astly would take over the main stage and so on. Each artist has their time on both stages, some of them even going out to perform in the crowd. Every so often confetti would rain down on the ecstatic fans, dressed in their best memorabilia and 80’s/90’s gear. This was such a unique show and the unique set-up kept the fans guessing and enthralled.

Jennifer Lake

Jennifer is a Houston native, she recieved her first camera as a toddler and has been passionate about photography her whole life.
She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography in December 2012.
Since then, she’s been published in Rolling Stone, The New York Post, The Houston Press, amongst many others. Her photos have been featured on CNN, and ABC World News Tonight. She’s been published internationally in Germany, France, England, Russia, and Denmark to name a few.

Jennifer and her husband, Cameron, are passionate about music and sharing their love of live music with others. They often tag-team shows with Cameron writing reviews, and Jennifer photographing the concert.
