Teezo Touchdown’s Hometown Show at House of Blues Houston

A SOLD OUT House of Blues welcomed Teezo Touchdown to kick off the Summer of 2024. The Beaumont-raised singer/songwriter brought fans together for his first ever headlining tour.

The coolest thing about this show was not only the performance, but the fan base. Teezo Touchdown really creates a very safe and intimate space for fans to wear their heart on their sleeve. From the alternative outfits, emphasis on art and emotionally touching lyrics, its an understatement to say the vibe at the House of Blues was gratifying.

To open his performance, Teezo displayed snippets of an interview that highlights his responses to his signature look, upbringing, and influences where he mentions artists like Trippie Redd, and Chance the rapper. As the first snippet came to a close, the performance started with the hit single, “SUCKA!”, and for the first time performed with featured artist Fred Flipstone. This was the perfect way to get the sold out venue hyped.

Teezo Touchdown is celebrated for his emotionally uplifting lyrics. They’re deep enough to pierce your heart in ways that make you grateful for listening. This goes to say that when “Strong Friend” was performed there were definitely some tears of joy in the crowd.

Halfway through the performance, Teezo Touchdown made sure to shout out Houston. He listed his favorite things about the Space City in order. “#1. Y’all got great food, #2. Great music, #3. This ones my favorite…” as he proceeded to begin singing the opening lyrics to Technically. He sang, “The girls in Houston are all tens,” along with everyone in the crowd.

Throughout the performance, Teezo Touchdown engaged with the crowd and walked us down memory lane through his journey. The ongoing snippets of the interview, and the outfit swaps felt like witnessing an authentic virtue of art. “Impossible”, the 5th track on ‘How do you sleep at night?” was the cherry on top of this performance. The techno-infused beats and motivational message behind the track definitely shows his heartening love for his art and all who listen.

Teezo Touchdown is a rising artist to keep an eye out for. His Authenticity, Genre-Binding Sound, and Engaging performance made it a show to remember.
