Faheem Najm, better known as T-Pain, kicked off his Mansion in Wiscansin Tour at Houston’s 713 Music Hall Tuesday night. In true T-Pain fashion (literally), he appeared through the doors of a digital mansion wearing sunglasses, two diamond encrusted ‘Nappy Boy’ chains, and a plaid-patchwork suit with a matching top hat. As the night evolved, so did his fashion, until he appeared in an Astros jersey to Travis Scott’s FE!N and wild cheers.
He played one hit after another, then surprised the crown with a cover of Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ before going into a handful of covers from his album On Top of the Covers. The sold-out crowd sang along with every song, dancing all the night away. At the end of the night, as fans were making their way out of the venue, T-Pain appeared for a surprise encore, where he got a little more personal with the audience, and taught them one of his newer songs while he played along on acoustic guitar.
March 2018, at In Bloom Fest, was the last time T-Pain performed in Houston. This show was well worth the 6 year wait, but hopefully we won’t have to wait that long to see him again.
