Soulja Boy Cranks it Up at The House Of Blues Houston

Soulja Boy’s The Swag Tour turned the House of Blues stage into a Time Machine and everybody in the building was strapped in for the ride. The building was filled with nostalgia and bass as fans packed into the venue, ready to “Crank Dat” like it was the 2000s all over again. Spoiler alert: they did, and it was a you had to be there moment.

From the moment he stormed the stage, swagged out from head to toe, Soulja Boy was in full command of the crowd. Every track felt like a sing-along moment, reminiscent of cranking up YouTube after school to catch his latest upload. TikTok kids and OG fans alike rapped along to “Donk” and “Turn My Swag On” like they were national anthems.

Soulja Boy’s energy was not to be played with. He danced, he flexed, he shouted out every city within 100 miles. At times, he would jump into the crowd and snap selfies with his fans throughout the night. But don’t get it twisted, behind all the fun, Soulja knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s a showman, a visionary, a rapper, a producer, and a digital pioneer.

By the time he closed, the crowd was amped up, smiling ear to ear, and losing their voices. Soulja Boy’s back-to-back performances of hits released throughout the years reminded us why he’ll always be the internet’s first rap king.
