Just a year ago, Santa Fe Klan sold out House of Blues, and now his tour is hitting the big stage, like Toyota Center here in Houston, for his Todo y Nada Tour on July 19.
His opening act Snow tha Product did an amazing job at setting the tone for the night as she does at her own shows. She popped the cork of a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut and champagne rained over the crowd. Her flow pulled the crowd in and out of their bodies with every bar she spit. She got off stage to get the crowd more amped up and she achieved that with just her mere presence. Snow tha Product is a true master of hyping up a crowd during her sets!
Santa Fe Klan’s stage presence made his Mexican fanbase feel like they were amongst family. His crew on stage consisted of Mexicans of various age groups all holding up a Mexican flag. Mexican flags also flooded the arena as fans also joined in with sharing their Mexican pride. As a Mexican-American myself, I felt such a warm feeling being surrounded by the aura of my culture & being able to embrace it in a safe space Random fun fact, Santa Fe, Guanajuato where he’s from is actually only 2 hours away from where my own family is from in Guanajuato!
Emerging from the underground of Mexico’s growing rap scene, he has brought to us an artist who candidly speaks on his life experiences in the hood, about his family, love, and touches strong base on Mexican pride and embracing our culture. His sound is much more unique than others because he has conquered the art of combining cumbia sounds with rap and even regional Mexicano with rap. He demonstrated such artistry with performing tracks like “Rompe” and “Cuidando el territiorio.” Bar for bar you can hear the hunger, pride and respect in his voice. He also threw down dancing cumbia wepa style!
Whether you are Mexican or not you will find yourself bumping your head and moving your feet when you hear a Santa Fe Klan track, there’s no fighting it.
