The spanish singer, producer, and songwriter Rusowsky recently announced his first ever tour across the United States. His stop at Houston’s White Oak Music Hall wuickly became one of the most anticipated shows of the season, and sold out the venue with fans who had waited years for this moment.
When I head that Rusowsky was coming to Houston, I instantly knew I had to be there and couldn’t miss his concert. I’ve been listening to him since around 2019, back when his early tracks like “Mwah :3” and “pikito” felt like hidden gems you stumbled upon late at night. His sound was unlike anything else I’ve heard, with soft vocals on an upbeat experimental track that was strangely comforting. Over the year, Ive been following his journey so the idea of finally seeing him live was surreal.

I walked into White Oak Music Hall that Thursday night, the venue was buzzing long before he stepped onstage. The crowd was a mix of longtime listeners and newer fans who had clearly fallen into the Rusowsky uniserse through TikTok, Apple Music playlists, or word of mount. Everyone was eager to see him, and you could feel the shared excitement!
When the building lights dimmed the moment the first note of “Jhonny” floated through the venue, the room erupted, everyone cheered as he made his appearnace on stage. A bold opener with an upbeat rhythm worked with piano keys, and melancholic voice as the drums filled the emptiness. Rusowsky took a moment and told the crowd “Almost like a year ago I dropped an album it’s called Daisy, I hope you have a good night.” Eager to perform his new material!

There were times when the room went completely still, especially when the lights dimmed during the slower tracks like “4 Daisy” and “Cell.” Rusowsky brought the night down with a soft, glowing emotional space, you could see people swaying, eyes closed, letting themselves feel whatever the music brought out of them.

Later in the set, Rusowsky shifted into some of his more upbeat, experimental tracks such as “Kinki Figaro” shook the whole venue that had the fans bouning going crazy. Followed up with “Lit” a personal favorite that continued the upbeat rhythm. You could tell Rusowsky feed off the excitement and radiated that energy back into the crowd!
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night came when Rusowsky performed “Mwah :3” but not in the way anyone expected. Instead of jumping straight into the upbeat, playful verison fans knows by heart, he bagn with a stripped down acoustic intro. The room feel completely silent as he stood under a soft spotlight, letting the melody unfold slowly then seamlessly transitioned into the original beat. The crowd shouted every lyric with joy, hitting on a deeper level and reminded everyone why this song became so beloved in the first place.
If there was one song that fans were talking about all night, it was “Malibu.” It’s his most viral track right now, that has been floating across socials media. People chanted “Malibu, Malibu, Malibu” so when the notes finally hit, the reaction was immediate! People screamed. Phones shot into the air. The excitement rippled through the room. The crowd sand every word back to him, turning the venue into a chorus of voices that filled the space completely.
Rusowsky delivered a show that was heartfelt, energetic, and unforgettable. For many that night felt like a full circle moment. Songs we discovered years ago through headphones suddenly existed in real space, surrounded by hundereds of voices that sang along. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for Rusowsky, Houston was lucky enough to witness the start of something much bigger.
