Unpredictable, genre-binding, and a one-of-one individual. That’s what fans are calling Massachusetts born artist nothing,nowhere (also known as n,n). With his evolving career, he keeps the Emo Rap community on their heels, and the music industry hasn’t been the same since. He kicked off his 2022 tour with special guests Poorstacey, carolesdaughter, guccihighwaters, and Snarls in mid April. We caught up with the artist before his stop in Houston to gather his thoughts on this highly anticipated tour.
How do you feel going back on tour and what are your expectations?
Um, it feels pretty surreal. Everyone knows it’s been a bazaar past couple of years. I released a song during COVID peak and it was really hard to get that running.
How do you feel about coming to Texas, and the Fans here?
Texas is always a blast. I’ve never had a bad show in Texas. Everyone always comes and is there for the music. It’s an amazing state to play music in. The last show I performed there was a last minute thing and it turned out amazing.
Experimenting with different sounds is something you’ve mastered successfully. What inspired you to take that route?
I guess mostly it comes from my influences. I’m indecisive in life in general. I mostly wanna put music out there that no one else is doing, something that is fully unique. I wanna bring something to the table that has never been heard. I don’t wanna sound like every other band.
Your music has really helped many fans and has deep messages and perspective, how does this affect your drive as an artist?
It’s definitely fuel for me when my music really touches my fans, or when people come up to me with my logo tattooed on them and stuff. You wanna feel like you have a purpose, and in return it also really heals people that really listen. I feel like this is my purpose. It’s amazing to hear people at your shows screaming your lyrics back at you crying.
In the past you kept your face pretty hidden in music videos and pictures, what put that to an end and how do you feel now?
Sometimes I wish I could go back to being faceless. When I started, I wanted people to have a connection with my music and that only. If i’m gonna do this I wanna know that they’re only in it for that. As I started touring, people opened up their hearts to me and wanted to be as vulnerable with them as they are with me.
Any messages to your fans?
I wanna say thank you to everyone who has come to this tour. It’s been an amazing run. Everyone is unbelievable. Out of all the tours, I’m the most proud of this one. Thank you to everyone who has ever given me a chance.
Truly an amazing, talented and creative artist, Nothing,Nowhere has shown to be all for his fans. With a career starting on soundcloud, and now on the stage, his evolution has been an exciting (and emotional) one to watch.
