Norah Jones enchants 713 Music Hall

Norah Jones played to a dense crowd at 713 Music Hall on October 15, 2024 when she stopped in Houston on her Visions Tour. Her setlist covered the full breadth of her catalog. It included slow and sweet melodies like Sunrise, as well as her newer southern rock style with Queen of the Sea, which still showcases her well known rich molasses voice. Throughout the performance, Jones accompanied her vocals with her trademark intricate piano melodies, as well as the electric guitar.

Opening the performance was Emily King, combining her full vocals with simple, upbeat guitar and percussion. Her lyrics matched her clever quips and stories between songs. She takes negative experiences, wrapping them with melodies until they became soulful bops; equal parts profound and optimistic.

Overall, the concert was a laid back and relaxing experience. Both Jones and King filled the space with their soothing vocals, accompanied by smooth instrumentals and colorful backgrounds. It was perfectly enjoyed lounging in a comfortable chair with a warm drink in hand.
