Argentine sensation Nicki Nicole brought her ALMA Tour to Houston, Texas, marking the second stop following the release of her latest project, “ALMA“, which showcases a fresh and diverse sound. As I approached the House of Blues fans were lined up outside, many holding signs and flags from different countries. The venue filled up quickly fans rushed to get the best spot to get the perfect view of Nicki and share their signs for her to see.
Nicki Nicole took the stage shortly after 8 p.m., dressed in an all-black ensemble, complete with a sleek leather jacket and transparent blue shades that added a striking contrast to her look. She kicked off the night with electric energy, opening with her hit from Bzrp’s Music Sessions, Vol. 13, setting the tone for the rest of the performance.
Backed by a live band, the music came alive, with the drums guiding the crowd into a rhythmic sway and the guitar perfectly accentuating Nicki’s vocals on “Intoxicao.” One of the standout moments for me was when she took center stage to perform her part of “Entre Nosotros.” Her angelic voice delivered every note with raw emotion, a reflection of the heartache that permeates the song’s lyrics about a past love.
Nicki took a brief pause in the show to acknowledge a fan holding a sign that read it was her birthday. With a smile, Nicki rallied the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” to her, a sweet gesture that clearly made the fan’s night. “¿Seguimos?” she asked, and the venue erupted in cheers as she dove into “Ojos Verdes,” a Tejano song that caught me by surprise. Given how prominent Tejano culture is in Houston, it was a perfect nod to the local crowd. Nicki even called out to those in the upper stands, urging them to dance to the rhythm of “Otra Noche,” her collaboration with Los Ángeles Azules, began to play.
Nicki invited a few lucky fans to join her on stage. They sang along, sharing a special moment of appreciation with her—these were fans who had waited from the very beginning to secure their spots in the front row. Another touching highlight was when fans tossed gifts onto the stage, and Nicki graciously accepted them, smiling at each token of love.
She wrapped up the show with “Caen Las Estrellas,” her track with YSY A, transforming the venue into a pulsating club with its upbeat rhythm. As the song reached its peak, the crowd was jumping along to the beat. Just before the night ended, Nicki made her way down to the barricade, personally greeting the fans who had waited eagerly to be as close to her. As she made her way out of the venue she thanks all of the fans for coming to her show tonight. Thank you Nicki for an incredible show!
