Metal Heads from Houston and beyond stormed Warehouse Live Thursday night for a sold-out show featuring Swedish metal gods themselves; Meshuggah. Joining them on the bill was also Swedish metal bands In flames and Torch. This was my first time seeing Meshuggah and I already knew from the get go of how absolutely intense it would be, so trust me when I say… I was definitely stoked and prepared.
The energy from the crowd was MASSIVE! I mean I really don’t know how else to describe it. Each and every human in that venue was there and ready to mosh, crowd surf, and let Meshuggah rip their faces off. Torch & In Flames Started the night with two awesome sets, both playing their most famous hits and clearly getting everyone pumped up for Meshuggah, which let’s be real… that’s who everyone was mainly there to see.
By the time I knew it, the venue went completely dark and red lights beamed behind each band member as they entered the stage slowly. Working their way through their 13-song set, the brutality of each riff rang my eardrums to the point where I woke up the next morning still hearing those same riffs. Meshuggah is by far one of the most extreme intense metal bands I’ve ever seen. I still can’t get over how sharp those dudes are in a musical sense… Honestly, they are fucking geniuses.
