Maggie Rogers Lights Up Cynthia Woods MitchellPavilion with Unforgettable Performance

Last night, June 1 st , the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion was the place to be as Maggie
Rogers delivered an electrifying performance that left fans buzzing with joy.

The evening kicked off with The Japanese House, who set the mood perfectly with a
captivating ten-song set. Their performance included a mix of newer hits including
“Touching Yourself” and “Sunshine Baby”, and beloved older tracks like “You Seemed
So Happy” and “Boyhood”, as well as a special treat: an unreleased song that thrilled
the audience named “Smiley Face”. The blend of familiar tunes and fresh material made
for a dynamic opening act, preparing the crowd for the night ahead.

Following the evening, excitement peaked as Maggie Rogers took the stage. Walking
down a stair-stage set in a stunning black leotard with a sheer skirt cover-up, her short
hair bouncing with every step. From the first note, her stage presence was palpable,
captivating the audience with her natural charisma and boundless energy.

Maggie’s set was a masterful blend of old favorites and new gems. Classics like
“Alaska,” “Light On,” and “Love You For A Long Time” had the crowd singing along with
every word. In a touching moment, she dedicated “Love You For A Long Time” to her
drummer’s family, as this was his hometown show. Another heartwarming highlight was
her shoutout to a college professor, Mrs. Richie, mentioning the show was her way of
turning in a midterm.

The versatility of Maggie’s performance was on full display as she switched seamlessly
between acoustic renditions, a piano ballad of “I Still Do”, stripped-down guitar versions,
and full band arrangements. This variety kept the audience engaged and showcased
her wide-ranging talent. It felt less like a concert and more like a joyous reunion of old
friends, with the crowd dancing, singing, and hugging throughout the night.

Before the encore began, fans did not want the show to end. They even started a
“Maggie” chant wanting to hear more before the night ended. Maggie’s 18-song set
ended on a high note with the heartfelt version of “Don’t Forget Me,” the first song from
her new record. As the final chords resonated through the pavilion, the audience was
left with smiles, memories, and the melodies of the night lingering in their minds. Fans
exited the venue singing their favorite tunes, already reminiscing about an evening that
truly felt magical.
