Friday night at the House of Blues Houston pulsated with energy as Neutro Shorty, hailing from Venezuela, kicked off his debut nationwide tour named the ‘Alien Tour.’ The venue was packed with fans eagerly awaiting his performance. The number of attendees surprised me, as this was my first time discovering him, showcasing his prominence in the Latin Trap culture.
Neutro Shorty’s performance was nothing short of incredible, delivering a relentless barrage of punchlines over a hauntingly melodic trap backdrop, which is what one would expect from a Latin Trap show. The energy that night was electric, reaching a peak level that was impossible to ignore. The crowd surged with enthusiasm, jumping to the beat and shouting with excitement at every lyric, elevating the atmosphere of an already thrilling night.
Giving his all on stage, Neutro Shorty takes a moment to pause and holds up a Venezuelan flag handed to him by someone in the crowd, showcasing his deep connection to his roots and representing his country wherever he performs. During his performance, he takes the time to personally sign items for his fans, building a strong connection by engaging with them.
As the night came to an end, Neutro Shorty brought the show to a close with one of my favorite songs, ‘The World Is Mine,’ turning up the energy one last time. Neutro Shorty mentioned that Houston came out and showed support for him, expressing his intention to secure a larger venue for his next visit, ‘pa que rompen.’ This show truly highlighted how big the Latin Trap scene is and that there’s more talent to discover.
