Rising pop powerhouse Jessie Murph brought her signature blend of pop, country, and hip-hop to a packed house at Houston’s 713 Music Hall, delivering a night full of raw emotion, theatrical visuals, and fan connection that left her audience buzzing. Seriously, at one point she was carried through the GA pit on her security guard’s shoulders onto a couch her team set up deep inside the pit. This was her way of connecting on a more one on one basis with her fans. She is iconic for doing this and her fans will never forget it.

Murph, who first found fame through TikTok and YouTube by posting song covers and vlogs, launched her music career in 2021 with her debut single “Upgrade.” Since then, she’s climbed the charts with hits like “Always Been You,” “Pray,” and her 2025 breakout single “Blue Strips,” from her sophomore album Sex Hysteria. Known for her deep, soulful vocals and modern R&B style, Murph has collaborated with the likes of Maren Morris, Jelly Roll, Diplo, and Polo G.

The show started shortly after 9 p.m. and Jessie Murph took the stage following a dramatic intro by four backup dancers who mimed a staged fight before her entrance. It was such theatrical performance that you thought you were watching a musical in that moment. She launched into “Gucci Mane,” setting the tone for a theatrical and emotionally charged night. Throughout the set, Murph incorporated bold visuals: she was lifted by dancers during “It Ain’t Right,” wrapped in ropes during “Sex Hysteria,” and dramatically veiled from the ceiling for the ballad “Heroin.” One standout moment came during “Dirty,” when she smashed a prop bottle over a dancer’s head with added a jolt of drama to the heartbreak anthem. It was almost like a telenovela taking place on stage!

True to her online persona, Murph took time to connect with the crowd. Before performing “Pray,” she invited a nervous but excited fan on stage, gently encouraging her to sing along. Fans across TikTok have since praised the singer for her humility and authenticity, often citing these small moments as the reason they feel so connected to her. Many describe her shows as memorable, energetic, and emotionally resonant and I could not agree more.

Her setlist pulled heavily from Sex Hysteria, but also featured fan favorites like “Touch Me Like a Gangster” and “Drunk in the Bathtub.” The explosive finale, “Blue Strips,” brought the house down and fake hundred-dollar bills rained from the ceiling and dancer-operated cash guns blasted them into the crowd. It felt like you were at a nightclub turning up with your friends!

Jessie Murph isn’t just a viral success—she’s a bona fide star in the making.
