Houston Welcomes Blue October Back Home

Just in time for Halloween, 94.5 The Buzz presented Theresa’s Dos Equis Halloween Bash, giving Houstonians the opportunity to dress up and rock out with hometown band Blue October on their “This is What I Live For” tour. Fans filled the Bayou Music Center on October 30th with lively energy and full of Halloween spirit! Costume contestants were given the chance to register for a cash prize that was to take place right before the show. Many creative solo and couple costumes were cheered for and three were named winners.

The show started as lights dimmed and the band began to sing the hit “Daylight.” The audience sang along with vocalist Justin Furstenfeld. Following the end of the song, Furstenfeld began to reminisce on his musical journey in the city he was raised in, and his history with The Buzz.

“Ever since the beginning of time, they’ve always given us a shot”, he stated.

Furstenfeld grew emotional and shared a heart to heart moment with the audience as the show continued to roll. “I’m always very proud to be in Houston”, he exclaimed. He shared a story about his father and the impact he had on his career and his character. “He taught me to be a bad son of a b*tch!” he stated. “He taught me how to stand up for myself!” Furstenfeld shared that his father was a Houston police officer and shared his deep support and appreciation for them.
