DJO brought his Another Bite tour to the Lawn at White Oak Music Hall, and fans were lined up since early in the day, ready for a night of music and chaos in the best way. Post Animal opened the show, which made the night even better since DJO’s frontman Joe Keery used to be in the band. When he came out to start with “Awake,” the crowd cheered so loud it felt like everyone had been waiting all year for this moment.
The set rolled through songs like “Uglyfisherman” and “Basic Being Basic,” with Keery dancing around, cracking smiles, and clearly having as much fun as the crowd. A favorite moment was “Charlie’s Garden,” which had that bright, Sgt. Pepper’s-era Beatles energy that made the whole place feel like a giant singalong. When he dedicated “Roddy” to anyone at their first concert, it was one of those sweet, goofy moments that made the night feel personal. The encore with Post Animal on “Flash Mountain” wrapped everything up perfectly, leaving everyone grinning and a little starry-eyed.
Until next time, DJO <3
