Hardcore in Houston: Knocked Loose, The Garden, Drain, and Militarie Gun

The friendlier the hardcore frontman looks, the more violent the music, or so the adage goes. At Bayou Music Center on Sunday, October 13th, that adage rang true. Four bands, Militarie Gun, Drain, The Garden, and Knocked Loose, blew the doors off the venue, as fans moshed and windmilled their way around the pit.

Drain, arguably the standout act of the night, brought out the rowdiest of the crowd, with dozens of crowdsurfers throughout their 30 minute set. At one point, frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro instructed the raging horde to hold up their dollar bills before sending them running to tip the bartenders.

Headliners Knocked Loose took the stage shortly before 10PM in with a barrage of riffs and drums. Trees flanked the stage alongside a massive drum riser and illuminated cross, while the band blasted the crowd with music.

With one of the largest and most active mosh pits Houston has seen in a long time, the venue was alive with energy, and fans left buzzing, knowing they witnessed one of the best shows of the year.
