It’s only his first headlining tour as an artist, but the casual fan wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. The Bronze Peacock was jam-packed from the entryway to the stage on Monday as fans hurried in to shower the talented Tampa native with praises.
On the second stop of his Submissive Tour, Houston was delighted with everything Destin Conrad had to offer, especially coming off the heels of releasing his most recent project, SUBMISSIVE2, just under a month ago. The night couldn’t have started any better as fans were serenaded with the sultry sounds from supporting artists on the tour, and fellow Tampa native, Amaria. Her sound is so distinct, lush with neo-soul-inspired rhythm, and gave off a very familiar groove compared to the likes of Erykah Badu. Songs like “Moon” and “Lose Control” left everyone in a trance, and Amaria left no doubt that she is the quintessential match as Conrad’s running mate.
Soon after, Destin took control of the stage, along with the moment. He wasted no time providing everyone the fan service they had hoped for, as he took us through time and delivered select hits from all his past projects and singles like “BILL$” from COLORWAY, “Day Party” from SATIN, “Low Tide” from SUBMISSIVE, and his newest single “Same Mistake” featuring Alex Isley from his latest album SUBMISSIVE2.
Amaria also returned to share the stage at one point in the night to perform her song with Destin called “All For You,” on which he is featured. It wouldn’t be right if Conrad didn’t leave on a high note, so to close the night out, he gave everyone the song we had all been waiting for by performing his hit single “IN THE AIR.”
Destin Conrad’s SUBMISSIVE TOUR is just getting started, and there’s plenty of time to still see him on the road! His last stop is April 6th in Los Angeles, so get those tickets while you can!
