Danny Ocean “Reflexa” Tour at Bayou Music Center

Danny Ocean made a major breakthrough in 2016 with his viral hit “Me Rehuso,” and since then, the Venezuelan artist has rapidly grown in the reggaeton industry, adding his unique tropical pop flavor that has captivated all of Latin America. After four successful album releases, he announced his tour “REFLEXA,” meaning reflection.

On Saturday night Danny Ocean stoped by at Houston’s Bayou Music Center in Downtown wearing a Bobby Boucher numbered jersey from Adam Sandlers Water Boy one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. The speakers started to pulsating to the beat of “Monaco,” one of Danny’s most popular songs. I was surprised he played such a big hit so early in the show, but it was clear from that moment that this concert was going to be incredible.

Keeping the energy high, the drummer pounded out the beat to “La Idea De Amarme,” an upbeat track that had the entire crowd clapping, jumping, and moving their feet. Danny showcased his versatility by slowing down the tempo for a more intimate moment on center stage, performing “Ferrari” under a single spotlight.

At one point, Danny took paused to address the crowd, sharing a heartfelt message: “Hay que salir pa ser un futuro mejor, que nadie tene el derecho de juzgarte, solo la persona en el espejo” meaning “We have to go out there to make ourselves a better future, that no one has the right no judge us only the reflection of the person in the mirror“, and I thought that was a great way to reference his song “Cero condiciones“, one of my personal favorites, which he used to reignite the energy, turning the venue into a lively club atmosphere.

In a touching moment, Danny spotted a woman in the crowd holding a sign for him. She was celebrating her 30th birthday, and to her delight, he congratulated her and invited her on stage. Overcome with emotion, she joined him as they shared a song together—a moment she will surely never forget.

We also got treated with a cover of Mana’s “Oye Mi Amor” truly a crowd favorite that had everyone excited as you could hear them shout the lyrics to the song.

Closing out the show Danny mentions “Yo me querio ir esta noches sabiendo que houston gano.” Shouting out everyone that came to see him playing his biggest single that got him to where he is at now “Me Rehuso” as conffetti shoots out into the air, giving a final goodbye in the most euphoric feeling.

Danny Ocean’s concert was an unforgettable experience, and if you ever get the chance to see him live, it’s something you don’t want to miss!
