Saturday, May 28, Houston’s 94.5 The Buzz hosted its yearly tradition of “Buzzfest” at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, bringing sweaty Houstonians together to spend the afternoon with beer, food, and an awesome lineup of bands. This year’s roster included Papa Roach, Seether, Bush, The Hu, 10 Years, Dead Sara, and to lead off the afternoon, Houston’s very own Lucid Illusions. The Jam packed crowd was without a doubt stoked for what was in store for the night and as someone who has been attending buzzfest for 10+ years, I’ve got to say I was pretty darn stoked as well.
94.5 definitely nailed it with this years lineup, it was strange not having two separate stages to go between like at the previous Buzzfest’s but I suppose it was in our favor with how miserably hot it was and I’m sure a lot of my fellow concert-goers would agree.
Each band came through with full force throughout the night and when Papa Roach finally hit the stage, every single human in the crowd was singing along with absolutely no care in the world. Jacoby clearly noticed which led him into walking through the crowd and into the pit to scream along with the fans right there by his side. It was honestly an incredible thing to witness and made the night that much better.
The Buzz definitely brought together yet again another one-of-a-kind Buzzfest to Houston with the whole fest consisting of incredible vocals, extraordinary light shows, riffs, jokes, and melting instruments which all flowed together and completely rocked the pavilion. So glad I was able to attend and get some photos to remember it by!
