Belanova’s “Vida En Rosa” Tour Shines in Houston

After a six-year break, Belanova returned with a bang for their “Vida En Rosa” tour, wrapping up the US leg with an awesome show at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugarland. The Mexican electro-pop trio—singer/songwriter Denisse Guerrero, keyboardist/guitarist Edgar Huerta, and bassist Ricardo “Richie” Arreola put on a fun and energetic performance that took everyone on a nostalgic trip through their biggest hits. I felt like I was 14 years old all over again.

Kicking off with “Me Pregunto,” Belanova immediately hooked the crowd with Denisse’s unique voice and infectious energy. Fans showed up in sparkly, puffy clothes and big bows, channeling Denisse’s iconic style and adding to the party vibe. The band rolled through favorites like “Cada Que,” “Por Ti,” and “Baila Mi Corazón,” with the audience singing along to every word.

One of the evening’s highlights was when Denisse invited a few fans (or as she called them, fashionistas) on stage who had dressed in theme AKA just like her. Their heartfelt declarations of inspiration, citing her and Belanova’s music as significant influences, added an emotional and personal touch to the concert. “Que canten mis canciones es una cosa, pero que se vistan como yo y me sigan el rollo es otra!”.

Denisse’s frequent exclamations of “¡Viva México!” ignited waves of Mexican pride, further intensifying the night’s spirited atmosphere. The trio also paid homage to musical legends with their beautiful covers of Juan Gabriel’s “Amor Eterno” (yes, I cried!) and Selena Quintanilla’s “Como La Flor,” (yes, I cried again!) showcasing their versatility and deep respect for their musical roots.

The night ended with the iconic “Rosa Pastel”. She entered the stage wearing a wedding veil, with wedding bells, and in arms with a groom. But quickly took it off and kicked the groom off the stage, reminding us that this song is about heartbreak. I’ve been a fan of Belanova’s since I was 14 years old and they are one of those bands that I never thought I’d have the opportunity to catch live, and I am so glad I did. Until next time, Belanova <3
