The wild fever dream of Buenos Aires’ most electric duo, Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, hit Houston in full swing. They showed up with unfiltered energy, turning the stage into their own chaotic playground.
They opened the night in laid-back style, settling into two tall velvet chairs beside a small table topped with what appeared to be glasses of whiskey and an ashtray. This set a scene that felt equal parts lounge and mischief. But the ease vanished the second they launched into their set list with their hit “Dumbai,” and the room instantly lit up. Their vocals were razor-sharp, hitting every low and high with precision, while Ca7riel slid seamlessly into his verses, rapping with fluid ease. One moment he was tearing through jazzy guitar riffs, the next he was spitting bars with wild, animated expressions, all while never once losing his breath, as Paco kept the vibe electric and hypercharged.
Into the night, Ca7riel y Paco had their own solo moments. Ca7riel performed “SHIPEA2”, “POLVO” and “McFly” with smoke and lasers to match his energy and undisputibable stage presence. Paco performed “Viuda Negra” and his “BZRP Music Sessions #3″ with vibrant vocals.
Ca7riel y Paco are masters of bending genres until they break, the pair showered their fans with a set list full of futuristic sambas, electrofunk grooves, and beats that hit like a punch and a hug at the same time. Backed by killer musicians with horns, percussion, bass, keys, and a monster drummer, the duo bounced between Latin grooves, hip-hop, smooth ’80s R&B, and jazzy detours without ever losing the crowd. Ca7riel y Paco are intensely energetic, visually audacious, and musically unpredictable in the best way. They breathe a whole new life into their studio tracks. Live, they reveal a whole new side you’d never expect just from streaming their music.
The audience adorned with Paco’s infamous blue russian hats sang along to every word, never sure what twist was coming next. But beyond the musical chops, the night was pure fun and a getaway from the regular. Lasers sliced through the air for tracks like “Sheesh” and “Ola Mina XD”, they struck every time on the perfect part of the song. For a second you thought you were at an EDM rave! To start closing the night, they turned the bestie anthem “El Día del Amigo” into a heartfelt moment, repeating the final stanza “tu eres mi amigo”, until it felt like the whole room was singing it to each other.
Spanish speaker or not, you’re in for one of the most entertaining live shows out there.
